Recap: Highland Scots vs. Bakersfield Christian Eagles
The Highland Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 70-6 loss at the hands of Bakersfield Christian. Highland has not had much luck with Bakersfield Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Ruby Yanagi was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Destiny Francies was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Highland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Bakersfield Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Highland will head out on the road to challenge Ridgeview at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ridgeview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Highland in California (Ridgeview is ranked 465th, while Highland is ranked 1204th). As for Bakersfield Christian, they will take on Hanford West at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
