Basketball Recap: Show Low Victorious

After only 25 points in their last game, Show Low made sure to put some points up on the board against Walden Grove on Monday. The Cougars walked away with a 55-47 victory over the Red Wolves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Laci Peter was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave her a new career-high. Kinsey Frost was another key player, putting up nine points.

Walden Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Angel Amarillas, who shot 40% from the field on her way to 13 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Ariana Gamillo, who put up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and six blocks.

Show Low now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Walden Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Show Low has already played their next matchup, a 43-26 defeat against Sunnyside on the 25th. As for Walden Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-40 win against Sahuarita on the 25th.
