Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alyciah Aguirre and Brooke Benson Lead Lower Lake to Victory

Lower Lake had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the St. Helena Saints 37-35. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Saints back in January, they had to take a 58-35 defeat.

Lower Lake was led to victory by Brooke Benson and Alyciah Aguirre. Benson posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and five blocks, while Aguirre scored seven points and three steals. That's the most blocks Benson has posted since back in December of 2024.

Lower Lake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Lower Lake's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for St. Helena, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11.
