Soccer Game Preview: Chaffey vs. Diamond Ranch

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Chaffey challenge the Diamond Ranch at 5:00 p.m. on Friday... Chaffey's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Chaffey managed to keep up with Chino until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Chaffey came up short against Chino, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Diamond Ranch's match on Wednesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They never let Ontario onto the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Jaguars are ranked 880th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Diamond Ranch's win bumped their record up to 12-8-1. As for Chaffey, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.

Chaffey suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Diamond Ranch in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Chaffey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
