Softball Recap: Eaglecrest's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Eaglecrest dropped to 14-3 on Monday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 13-2 to the Cherokee Trail Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Raptors couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Cherokee Trail, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games.

For Cherokee Trail's part, the team relied heavily on Sydney Cobb, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Cobb has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylen Shaver, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Eaglecrest will venture away from home to square off against Mullen at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Raptors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Cherokee Trail, they will host Denver South at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
