Basketball Recap: Arickaree Comes Up Short

Arickaree was the 64-54 winner over Flatirons Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Arickaree was dealt a 66-28 defeat at the hands of Flatirons Academy on Saturday. Arickaree was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-19.

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JACK CORAOAR, who posted six points.

Flatirons Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gunnar Ast, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. Ast is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Henry Dehaan was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Arickaree's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Flatirons Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Arickaree will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Fleming at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Flatirons Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
