Softball Game Preview: Vidalia Indians vs. Wheeler County Bulldogs

The Vidalia Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Wheeler County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Vidalia is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Toombs County just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 9-6 to the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Wheeler County had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Highlanders 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Vidalia's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 14-11. As for Wheeler County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.

Vidalia skirted past Wheeler County 2-1 when the teams last played back in August. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
