Soccer Game Preview: Xavier Prep vs. Palm Desert

The Xavier Prep Saints will face off against the Palm Desert Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Xavier Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Xavier Prep's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past La Quinta 3-0. The Saints' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

They hit La Quinta with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Briana Espinoza, Sienna Ianni, and Lexi Torres.

Meanwhile, Palm Desert fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Palm Springs on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1. It was the first time this season that the Aztecs let down their fans at home.

Xavier Prep's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for Palm Desert, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-2 and their overall record down to 2-6-3.

Xavier Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Palm Desert in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Will Xavier Prep repeat their success, or does Palm Desert have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
