Softball Recap: Grandview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Chaparral last Saturday, Grandview came back down to earth. The Wolves fell just short of the Holy Family Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Aaliyah Carter spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sasha Kennedy made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Grandview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Holy Family, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Grandview will challenge Grand Junction Central at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Family, they will square off against Ponderosa at 1:15 p.m. on Friday.
