Basketball Recap: Greater Latrobe Comes Up Short

Greater Latrobe was the 54-46 winner over Greensburg Salem when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Greater Latrobe Wildcats fell just short of the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions by a score of 48-46 on Monday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greensburg Salem's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mya Heasley, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Regan Kerr, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Greater Latrobe's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Greensburg Salem, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Greater Latrobe Wildcats challenge the Blackhawk Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blackhawk will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Greater Latrobe surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greensburg Salem, they will venture away from home to take on West Mifflin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greensburg Salem is facing West Mifflin at the right time seeing as West Mifflin is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
