Hampton dropped down to 6-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 24-13 to the Ola Mustangs. The Hornets were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matchups prior), but the Mustangs' defense proved too tough.

When it comes to explaining why Hampton lost, don't look at Tristan Parks. Despite the final result, he threw for 240 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes.

As for Ola, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games.

Ola's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Hutson, who rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Hutson was even better on defense, forcing one fumble and making 13 total tackles. Jacoby Parker did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 121 receiving yards.

Hampton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 48-14 victory against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on the 31st. As for Ola, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-3 win against McDonough on the 31st.
