Soccer Game Preview: Westview vs. Poway

The Westview Wolverines are taking a road trip to face off against the Poway Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westview is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Westview was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Carmel, taking the game 3-1. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Mt. Carmel with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ruby Faydo, Lily Wallace, and Kaitlyn Arciaga.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Poway was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. Neither they nor Del Norte could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Westview pushed their record up to 8-4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. Poway's draw makes their record 10-4-2 this season.

Westview came up short against Poway in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can Westview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
