Softball Recap: Varnum Wins Going Away Against Mason + How To Watch

Varnum never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Mason Eagles as they made off with a 6-0 win. For the Whippets, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Varnum and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Mason, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Varnum will welcome Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Whippets will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Mason, they will venture away from home to face off against Macomb at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
