Baseball Recap: Midlakes Victorious

Midlakes won the last time they faced Waterloo and things went their way on Friday too. The Screaming Eagles walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Screaming Eagles.

Ayden Klapp made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Midlakes is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-8 otherwise. Klapp was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braxton Wilkes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Churchill, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Midlakes' win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Waterloo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Midlakes wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-1 defeat against Geneva on the 16th. As for Waterloo, they have also already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Mynderse Academy on the 18th.
