Basketball Recap: Grant Extends Winning Streak to Two

If University wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Grant, they should've done a better job of containing Valeria Vega. The Grant Lancers walked away with a 28-16 win over the University Wildcats on Saturday thanks in part to Vega, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last eight times she's played.

Natalie Quinones was another key player, putting up five points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Grant and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for University, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Grant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-16 win against Chavez on the 27th. As for University, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 32-23 victory against Fairfax on the 27th.
