Soccer Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 11-0 to the Cairo Syrupmakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Cairo this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Cairo, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Monroe is taking a road trip to face off against Peach County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe's defense better be ready for this one: Peach County have averaged an impressive 4.1 goals per game this season. As for Cairo, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Bainbridge at 7:30 p.m. Cairo will need to watch out since Bainbridge have now posted at least four goals in their last four contests.
