Volleyball Game Preview: Sunnyside Blue Devils vs. Cholla Chargers

Sunnyside is a perfect 3-0 against Cholla since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Sunnyside will host Cholla at 5:30 p.m. Sunnyside will be strutting in after a win while Cholla will be coming in after a loss.

Sunnyside barely beat Sahuaro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Sunnyside blew past Sahuaro 3-0 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Sunnyside never let Sahuaro on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Flowing Wells, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 25-13.

Cholla's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Sunnyside, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Sunnyside took their victory against Cholla in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Sunnyside repeat their success, or does Cholla has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
