Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves vs. Corcoran Panthers
The Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves lost against the Corcoran Panthers back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Wonderful College Prep Academy was outmatched by Corcoran on the road and fell 77-16. While losing is never fun, Wonderful College Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1215th, while Corcoran is ranked 475th).
Italvi Acevedo was Wonderful College Prep Academy's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Emilee Santos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Corcoran, scoring 25 points along with seven steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Santos has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Katalina Castillo, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Wonderful College Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Corcoran, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Wonderful College Prep Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Wonderful College Prep Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Corcoran, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Granite Hills at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Corcoran is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
