Basketball Recap: Leuzinger's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Leuzinger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 66-43 to the Paramount Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Olympians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while the Pirates are ranked 61st).

Leuzinger's loss came despite strong showings from Sovereign Woods and Brianna Ike. Woods went 7 of 12 on her way to 21 points, while Ike posted 13 points. What's more, Ike also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January.

Leuzinger's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-6. As for Paramount, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Leuzinger will take on Eagle Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle Rock will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Leuzinger surely won't give up without a fight. As for Paramount, they will host Culver City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
