Baseball Recap: Walker Has No Trouble Against Galloway

Walker had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Galloway on Monday. Walker put the hurt on Galloway with a sharp 15-0 victory.

Austin Lipscomb made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lipscomb was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jonathan Griggs was incredible, firing off two home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-3. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Walker is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Travis Tatom, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Walker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galloway only posted an OBP of .000.

Walker is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. Galloway has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
