Softball Recap: South Gwinnett Takes a Loss

South Gwinnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to the Newton Rams. If the Comets were looking for revenge after losing 17-2 to the Rams when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

South Gwinnett's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Newton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. South Gwinnett is set to square off against their familiar foe Rockdale County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Newton will take on rival Grovetown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
