Basketball Recap: Ava Kopetskie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Liberty over Easton Area

Liberty and Easton Area squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Liberty had to settle for second. They lost to the Easton Area Rovers on the road by a 58-40 margin. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rovers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 48-43 loss back in January.

Liberty lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ava Kopetskie, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. That was a full 42.5% of Liberty's points, marking the third time in a row Kopetskie has put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tula Sobrinski, who earned nine points and three steals.

Liberty's record now sits at 17-8. As for Easton Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Liberty nor Easton Area have any future games scheduled.
