If Central City was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Schuyler on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison fell just short of the Boone Central Cardinals by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Bison's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Central City sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-12.

Central City's loss came despite strong showings from Skylir Fischer and Sofie Negus. Fischer had 15 digs and two assists, while Negus had four digs and two aces. Negus is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Central City's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Boone Central, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Central City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Wood River on the 20th. As for Boone Central, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on the 20th.
