Baseball Recap: Paulding County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hiram last Wednesday, Paulding County came back down to earth. The Paulding County Patriots fell just short of the Bremen Blue Devils by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Liam Garrett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. He is becoming a predictor of Paulding County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hudson McEntyre, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Paulding County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Bremen, they moved to 3-4-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paulding County will square off against Rome at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. As for Bremen, they will challenge Bowdon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bowdon will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bremen surely won't give up without a fight.
