Roxana has gone 7-2 against Metro-East Lutheran recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Shells will square off against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roxana has three straight wins, Metro-East Lutheran has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Roxana will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Wesclin, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Shells blew past the Warriors 8-0 on Wednesday. The Shells not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 12-2).

Dalton Carriker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Max Autery and Nick Miles did most of the damage at the plate: Autery went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Miles went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Miles has posted since back in April.
Roxana hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wesclin struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Metro-East Lutheran lost a heartbreaker to Red Bud when they met back in March of 2019, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Knights fell 7-2 to the Musketeers.
Metro-East Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Huber, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Metro-East Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Roxana, their record is now 18-6.
Roxana got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2023 against Metro-East Lutheran by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shells since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
