Baseball Recap: East Laurens Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for East Laurens, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Northeast Raiders on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.

Myles Burke was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. East Laurens is 4-1 when Burke posts two or more runs, but 5-13 otherwise. Jaxten Thomas also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

East Laurens' win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Northeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Laurens will take on Montgomery County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northeast, they will challenge Jefferson County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
