Softball Recap: Westlake Beats South Cobb for Their Third Straight Win

Westlake extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 3-0. They put the hurt on the South Cobb Eagles with a sharp 22-13 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

As for South Cobb, they now have a losing record of 1-2. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (11), they still had to take the loss.

For South Cobb's part, Jada Emenalo and Janiya Fields did some serious damage despite the final result: Emenalo went a perfect 5-for-5 with six stolen bases and four runs, while Fields went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tellann Brown, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI.

Looking ahead, Westlake will square off against Southwest DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Cobb, they will challenge Hillgrove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
