Basketball Recap: Alexandria Trojans vs. Ruston Bearcats
The Alexandria Trojans came into Friday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Ruston by a score of 55-46 on Friday. For Alexandria, this counts as revenge for the 66-29 loss the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Alexandria got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chavez Whitehead out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Jaylin Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Alexandria's victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Ruston, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexandria will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carroll will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Ruston, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
