Baseball Game Preview: Perry Yellowjackets vs. Kendall Eagles

The Perry Yellowjackets will head out to face off against the Kendall Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Perry got the win against Naples by a conclusive 14-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Walker Briggs was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Briggs was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maximus Siewert, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Koson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Perry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Naples struck out nine times.

Meanwhile, Kendall had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Byron-Bergen an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bees recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Perry's record is now 11-7. As for Kendall, their record now sits at 13-2.

Perry suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Kendall in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
