Football Game Preview: Nixon-Smiley Mustangs vs. Natalia Mustangs

Nixon-Smiley will head out to square off against Natalia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Nixon-Smiley lost to Poth at home by a 32-14 margin. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Although Nixon-Smiley took the loss, they still got scores from Henry Benavediz and Joe White.

Meanwhile, Natalia ended up a good deal behind Karnes City on Friday and lost 42-28. While the Mustangs had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Badgers 21-14.

Having lost for the first time this season, Nixon-Smiley fell to 4-1. As for Natalia, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Nixon-Smiley took their victory against Natalia in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 45-20 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nixon-Smiley since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
