Preview: Minarets vs. Riverdale
The Minarets Mustangs will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Riverdale Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. on February 8th.
For the first time since back in November of 2023, Minarets was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Caruthers finished up their matchup with a 3-3 draw.
Minarets avoided a loss thanks to
Gennie Munoz and
Cecilie Pedersen, who posted all three of Minarets' goals. The pair have combined for a total of 25 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Riverdale's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. Their tough 7-1 loss to Chowchilla might stick with them for a while.
Minarets' draw gives them a new season record of 6-9-3. As for Riverdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Minarets was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverdale in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 3-1. Will Minarets repeat their success, or does Riverdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
