Preview: Sheldon Huskies vs. Kennedy Cougars
The Sheldon Huskies will be home for the holidays to greet the Kennedy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheldon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 621st, while Kennedy is ranked 235th).
Sheldon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 68-20 defeat at the hands of Christian Brothers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sheldon has scored all season.
Kennedy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 34 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 52-16 victory over Burbank. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kennedy.
Sheldon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Kennedy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Sheldon beat Kennedy 46-34 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Will Sheldon repeat their success, or does Kennedy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
