Baseball Game Preview: Paulding County Patriots vs. Bremen Blue Devils

The Paulding County Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Bremen Blue Devils at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday. Bremen took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Paulding County, who comes in off a win.

Paulding County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hiram on Wednesday. Paulding County blew past Hiram 11-1. The game marked the Patriots' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Hudson McEntyre, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Wyatt Martin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Bremen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Villa Rica. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Blue Devils have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Conner Helton was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Sosebee, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bremen's loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Paulding County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.

Paulding County might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Bremen in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Paulding County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
