Basketball Recap: Santa Monica Comes Up Short

Santa Monica and Lawndale squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Santa Monica had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lawndale Cardinals by a score of 34-32. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Telayia Fuller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lawndale, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Fuller is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played.

Santa Monica's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Lawndale, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Santa Monica does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawndale, they will face off against Alta Loma at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lawndale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
