Soccer Recap: Costa Mesa Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matches, Costa Mesa finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of the Kennedy Fighting Irish by a score of 2-1. That makes it the first time this season the Mustangs have let down their home crowd.

Costa Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Kennedy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1-3.

Costa Mesa and Tustin will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kennedy, they will take on San Pedro in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average, (San Pedro: 0.2, Kennedy: 0.5) so any goals scored will be well earned.
