Basketball Recap: Vail Christian Comes Up Short

Vail Christian came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Highland Huskies, falling 73-43. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 75-30 to the Huskies when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Vail Christian lost, don't look at Oliver Neumann. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Charlie Neumann, who posted four points.

Vail Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Vail Christian will take on Nucla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highland, they will venture away from home to challenge Merino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
