Football Game Preview: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Page Pirates

Ragsdale hasn't had much luck against Page recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will face off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Ragsdale has given up an average of 28.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ragsdale faced off against Dudley last Friday. The Tigers took a hard 34-18 fall against the Panthers. On the bright side, the 18- point effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring game to date.

Ragsdale's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amire Barnes, who rushed for 73 yards and two scores, and Sion Stevenson, who threw for 179 yards and one touchdown.

Even if they lost, Ragsdale's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kingston Chandler, Jemyh Robinson, and Demetrus Kersey, who each picked up one sack apiece. Ragsdale got some further help from Chandler: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Page was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 21-17 to Dudley. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ragsdale's record is now 0-5. As for Page, their record now sits at 3-2.

Ragsdale might still be hurting after the 30-6 loss they got from Page in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 23-0.
