Soccer Recap: Manzano Comes Up Short

Manzano fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Sandia on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Matadors by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Sandia this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in September.

Layla Vigil and Jessa Malizzo scored both of Manzano's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 41 goals.

Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Sandia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Manzano didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 win against Capital on the 4th. As for Sandia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Hope Christian on the 2nd.
