Football Game Preview: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Moriarty Pintos

Bloomfield has gone a perfect 3-0 against Moriarty recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bobcats will host the Pintos at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Moriarty will be up against a hot Bloomfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Bobcats took their matchup last Friday with ease, bagging a 65-13 victory over Taos. 65 seems to be a good number for the Bobcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bloomfield's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Moriarty never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Aztec to the tune of 50-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Pintos just coasted through the last quarter.

Moriarty's win came from a few key players Bloomfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mario Romero, who rushed for 176 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Royce Dennisson, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries.

Moriarty was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 405 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Moriarty, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Bloomfield against Moriarty when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Pintos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
