Basketball Recap: Claire Olia Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Walnut lost to California back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Walnut Mustangs skirted past the California Condors 42-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walnut to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Olia, who posted 18 points along with eight boards and five steals. The match was Olia's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrinna Baramucci, who had seven points and 12 rebounds.

Walnut has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for California, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Walnut will head out to take on Estancia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Walnut is facing Estancia at the right time seeing as Estancia is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for California, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sonora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
