Burrillville is 2-7 against Middletown since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Pirches was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cam Carlisle, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Colton Kerrison was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Middletown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Burrillville's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Middletown, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Burrillville came out on top in a nail-biter against Middletown in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Islanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
