Basketball Recap: Bakersfield Christian Skates Past Granada with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clovis West, Bakersfield Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Granada Matadors 86-35. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their 18-point performance the matchup before.

Bakersfield Christian found their leader in freshman Brielle Medrano, who went 7-for-12 from beyond the arc on her way to 33 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Abby Elizalde, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points and six boards.

The win got Bakersfield Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Granada, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coincidentally, Bakersfield Christian and Granada will both be playing Cornerstone Christian the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Cougars at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Matadors will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
