Football Recap: Moreno Valley Skates Past Citrus Hill with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moreno Valley). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Citrus Hill Hawks. The Vikings pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks had little chance of recovering from.

Moreno Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Syree Matthews out in front who rushed for 102 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 151 yards and one touchdown. Trevon Williams was another key rusher, rushing for 96 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Moreno Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 272 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Moreno Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.4 points on average over those games. As for Citrus Hill, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 5-1.
