Softball Recap: Poly Parrots vs. Verdugo Hills Dons
Poly extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-7. They lost 14-4 to the Verdugo Hills Dons. The Parrots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dons from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Verdugo Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
On Verdugo Hills' side, Madesyn Meadows and Karlina Ortiz made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Meadows tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Ortiz tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Meadows went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Ortiz went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Serena Baig, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Megan Brink was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
