Baseball Recap: Jordan Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Schley County, Jordan was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Carver Tigers 18-3. The Red Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Kade Evans made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, John Dollar was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bradley Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Jordan has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Carver, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Looking ahead, Jordan is taking a road trip to face off against Shaw at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Carver, they will square off against Kendrick at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Cherokees at the right time seeing as the Cherokees are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
