Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Latta's 18th in Last 20 Outings

Latta barely beat Wyandotte the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Bears 9-1 on Thursday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Latta is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wyandotte, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 27-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Latta will welcome Chandler at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wyandotte, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Colcord at 6:00 p.m. on December 5. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.8, the Hornets 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
