Baseball Recap: Islands Takes a Loss

Islands managed to slip by Long County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Islands Sharks lost 16-3 to the Long County Blue Tide on Tuesday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Tide apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Islands has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. The victory snapped Long County's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

While Islands had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
