Sandusky is a perfect 5-0 against Memphis since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sandusky lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Unionville-Sebewaing, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's contest. The Wolves put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 16-3 win on Wednesday.
Marvin Kritzman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Nathaniel Tovar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Kiley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Sandusky kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Memphis made easy work of Genesee on Wednesday and carried off a 9-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.
Like Sandusky, Memphis also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Peacock. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). Peacock has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Memphis is undefeated when Peacock posts two or more runs, but 7-9-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Gutt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Memphis' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-1 (and 6-8-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Budnick, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Sandusky's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Memphis, their win bumped their record up to 15-9-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Sandusky has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Memphis struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Sandusky's way against Memphis when the teams last played on Monday, as Sandusky made off with a 14-0 victory. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
