Volleyball Recap: Gulf Shores Takes a Loss

The Gulf Shores Dolphins didn't have quite enough to beat the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Gulf Shores took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 25-10, 15-13.

Payton Mcclarren was a one-woman wrecking crew For McGill-Toolen. as she had 30 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Mcclarren has posted since back in September of 2024. Rowan Thompson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Gulf Shores' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for McGill-Toolen, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Gulf Shores will challenge Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McGill-Toolen, they will take on Aledo in a tournament on Friday.
