Basketball Recap: Salpointe Catholic Drops Highest Score of Season Against Catalina Foothills

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salpointe Catholic). They really took it to the Catalina Foothills Falcons for the full four quarters, racking up an 82-48 win. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Salpointe Catholic had a senior duo take command as Sidney Anderson shot 5-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds and Hannah Williams went 8 of 11 en route to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Aryanna Kollasch was another key player, putting up eight points.

Salpointe Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catalina Foothills only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Catalina Foothills lost on Tuesday, don't look at Clara Mae Hager. Despite the final result, she posted 24 points and eight assists. The game was Hager's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mercy Martinez, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 12 points.

Salpointe Catholic's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Catalina Foothills, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Salpointe Catholic has already played their next contest, a 72-30 win against Mica Mountain on the 15th. As for Catalina Foothills, they will face off against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
